There are self guided tours given, where you start off with a docent giving you a quick overview and is present to answer any of your questions as you go through your self guided tour. …

There are self guided tours given, where you start off with a docent giving you a quick overview and is present to answer any of your questions as you go through your self guided tour. You can book a tour with a docent for extra cost. Also John Steinbeck's house that he grew up in is down the road within walking distance from the Steinbeck Center. They do serve lunch there. There are docents who also can give you information on his life, however you are not permitted up stairs for safety reasons but you do eat lunch in the house...... I believe you can make reservations for that also. Once a month on a weekend they serve high tea.
