A 6-foot alligator became a potentially fatal speed bump when it crawled onto a busy Florida interstate — directly into the path of two motorcycles, according to investigators. The bikers struck the alligator in rapid succession, resulting in two crashes, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Motorcyclists crashed on I-4 in Orange City after hitting an alligator; they sustained non-life-threatening injuries. FHP is investigating the incident.

Two motorcyclists were involved in a crash yesterday at approximately 6:08 p.m. on the westbound lanes of Interstate 4 near mile marker 110 in Orange City.
