The Bruins suffered another disheartening loss on Saturday, one that saw team captain Brad Marchand get benched for overtime.

In a game the Bruins needed a win after giving up a two-goal lead in the third period against the Senators, interim coach Joe Sacco elected to bench Brad Marchand in overtime. Sacco said it was a coach’s decision despite the fact Marchand’s 21 overtime goals are the most in Bruins history and third among active players.

The Senators came back and emerged victorious in a playoff-like atmosphere against the Bruins at the Canadian Tire Centre.

All the Boston Bruins had to do was hold on for a few more minutes. Leading by two goals, all that separated them from a massive win was one last late push by the Ottawa Senators.

During the Boston Bruins ' last contest against the Ottawa Senators, head coach Joe Sacco benched Brad Marchand during overtime. Marchand was among the Bruins on the ice when Senators forward Josh Norris tied the game up with 12 seconds left at 5-5. No. 63 was also the player defending Norris when he got his shot off.

The Ottawa Senators climbed out of a two-goal, third-period deficit with two extra-attacker goals and beat the visiting Boston Bruins 6-5 in a shootout on Saturday.
