The U.S. government's ban against ByteDance products has hit folks hard, but Second Dinner says Marvel Snap "isn't going anywhere."

It’s been unclear in the leadup to the TikTok ban what the fate of parent company ByteDance’s other apps would be, but now we know: they’ve gone dark in the US too. At the same time TikTok went offline this weekend,

Several ByteDance-owned apps still aren’t working for users in the US, and like TikTok, they’re not available on the App Store or Google Play, either.

The Marvel Comics digital game counts Nuverse as its publisher, which like TikTok is owned by the Chinese conglomerate ByteDance.

Notably, RedNote (Xiaohongshu) is still available for download from the U.S. app store, despite being a Chinese-owned platform subject to China's data privacy and censorship laws. In the lead-up to TikTok's banning, many users have flocked to the video-forward platform as a potential alternative.

The divest-or-ban law aimed at TikTok is also taking down other ByteDance-linked apps, including the popular card game Marvel Snap. The app suddenly cut off access Saturday night, seemingly without warning, surprising gamers who weren’t aware of its connection to ByteDance.
