A new poll from the University of North Florida says more people across Florida are worried about the cost of owning a home and paying for insurance.

A new poll from the University of North Florida’s Public Opinion Research Lab (PORL) asked more than 800 active registered voters across Florida what their biggest concerns were, and most said the cost of housing and insurance.

Back in 2022, only 2% of respondents said housing costs were the most important problem. In 2025, that number jumped to 34%.
