The school board's decision to accept the voluntary separation agreement for Arredondo comes about two months after voting in favor of terminating him.

The Grand Prairie ISD Board of Trustees approved the agreement with former superintendent Jorge Arredondo two months after he was fired and after a lawsuit. He was fired for unspecified policy violations.

Grand Prairie ISD's superintendent has been on paid suspension since September. He recently announced his official resignation.
