Lloyds Banking Group to close its Halifax Nelson branch
The Halifax has informed its customers that it will close its Manchester Road branch on March 4th 2026. The move follows other bank closures in Pendle, which saw Barclays Bank close its Nelson and Colne branches in 2019. The banking giant also closed its Barnoldswick branch in 2023.

The latest closures mean that a total of 32 banks in Surrey have either have closed or will close since February 2022. The number of Lloyds bank branches across the UK will decrease to 386, while Halifax will fall to 281 branches and Bank of Scotland branches down to 90 by the end of 2026.
