SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) -Notre Dame has hired a new general manager with NFL experience for its football program. ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported that coach Marcus Freeman and the Notre Dame administration have tabbed Mike Martin of the Detroit Lions for the position.

Mike Martin, who reportedly will be Notre Dame’s new football GM, spent two decades in the NFL, including helping build the current Detroit Lions roster.
