Karen Read on Tuesday disputed Norfolk Superior Court Judge Beverly Cannone’s claim that jurors in her murder retrial are “fed up” with the case.
After a Thursday meeting where Judge Beverly Cannone reviewed the language of jury instructions, the closing arguments in the murder retrial of Karen Read will begin on Friday.
Read, 45, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of O’Keefe, who was found outside the home of a fellow Boston police officer on Jan. 29, 2022. Norfolk County prosecutors say Read struck O’Keefe with her SUV while driving intoxicated. Read’s attorneys say her car never struck O’Keefe and that others are to blame for his death.
Judge Beverly Cannone denied Karen Read a mistrial in her second murder trial in the killing of her cop boyfriend John O'Keefe on Tuesday.
