The Miami Hurricanes fell 8-1 to the Louisville Cardinals in game one of the NCAA Super Regional and will now have to win consecutive games to avoid elimination.

The action started with back-to-back home runs from Garrett Pike and Jake Munroe in the home half of the second inning. After Miami got one back in the top of the third, the Cards busted things open with a 5-run frame fueled by a critical Hurricane error and another bomb from Munroe.

The unseeded Hurricanes will travel to face the also-unseeded Louisville Cardinals at the NCAA Super Regionals in a best-of-three series with a trip to the College World Series in Omaha — where Miami hasn’t advanced to since 2016 — on the line. The opener will be played Friday at 3 p.m. at Jim Patterson Stadium.
