The Marlins became the first Major League club to secure its first three wins of a season in walk-off fashion in 22 years (since the 2003 Rays) on Sunday afternoon in a 3-2 comeback victory over the Pirates at loanDepot park.
The Conine family had a very special day in Miami. Jeff Conine became the first member of the Marlins’ Hall of Fame when he was inducted before the team’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In beating the Pirates on Sunday, the Marlins became the first team since the 2003 Tampa Bay Devil Rays to win their first three games of the season via a walk-off. In the finale of the set against Pittsburgh, the walk-off came via a wild pitch.

A questionable send decision by third base coach Mike Rabelo erased a scoring chance for the Pirates in the top of the 12th and the Marlins took advantage and won the game in the bottom of the inning. The Pirates will look to earn a series split on Sunday afternoon behind Andrew Heaney, who is making his team debut.
