Days after deadly storms dropped buckets of rain on Tennessee, a winter storm brought a few inches of snow and bitter cold temperatures to the region. The National Weather Service canceled a winter storm warning for areas north of Interstate 40 and a winter weather advisory for areas south just before 9 a.

Despite extensive preparation, some areas proved to be a problem for motorists early Wednesday morning as snowfall blanketed the roads.

Many students across Middle Tennessee will have another snow day as dangerously cold temperatures continue to cause slick roadways. The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory for Middle Tennessee.
