Isolated severe storms will be possible through tonight in northeast Alabama, according to forecasters. The strongest storms could have wind gusts high enough to take down trees and power lines. Storms in the rest of the state could have gusty winds as well.

Severe weather is likely across the state today. The main threats are damaging winds and large hail, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Mornings will continue to be warm and muggy, with scattered showers and storms building in coverage by the afternoon each day.

Storm coverage diminishes slightly by Tuesday as the boundary lifts north, but heat and humidity build in its place. By Wednesday and Thursday, highs in the 90s and dewpoints in the 70s will result in heat indices exceeding 100 degrees, with values potentially reaching 105°+. If trends continue, heat advisories may be issued.

A few scattered storms for both Saturday and Sunday with a localized flood threat and at perhaps some severe risk as well. June heat and humidity will build into next week.
