At Cinemacon, Gunn and stars David Corenswet (Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) and Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor) shared stories from set, while DC Studios co-chief Peter Safran talked up the inspirations for Krypto, noting the canine was inspired by Gunn’s real dog, Ozo.

What a treat. The most heartwarming part of the Superman trailer back in December, got an extended look tonight at CinemaCon, that being the Man of Steel and his dog Krypto. We see Superman dropped to Earth bloodied near the fortress of solitude.

David Corenswet, best known for his work in Ryan Murphy’s “Hollywood,” stars as Clark Kent/ Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) plays Lois Lane. The rest of the cast includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, as well as Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced.
