Arne Slot has said he hopes to continue working with captain Virgil van Dijk "for a long time" amid continued uncertainty over his long-term Liverpool future.

Liverpool have escaped the significant injury issues the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham have suffered this season and Virgil van Dijk hopes that will continue

"He deserves every compliment he gets," Slot said. "He's been outstanding for this club for so many years and since I've been working here, he's been outstanding for me. He wants, like all the others, to make it a great season.
