An armed suspect who exchanged gunfire with Los Angeles Police Department officers at a Woodland Hills motel failed to come out and was found dead inside when a SWAT team made entry.

A man is dead after a police shooting at a motel in Woodland Hills Sunday night. Around 10:15 p.m. Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to calls of a man with a gun at a motel in the 21700 block of Ventura Boulevard.

An armed suspect who exchanged gunfire with Los Angeles police officers at a Woodland Hills motel failed to come out and was found dead inside when a SWAT team made entry, authorities said. The shooting occurred about 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at the Vantage Point Inn at Ventura Boulevard and Baza Avenue, LAPD Officer D. Orris said.

Personnel from the TEMS unit immediately assessed and determined the suspect, later identified as 47-year-old Benjamin Prince Bradley, was deceased. No officers or other community members were injured during this incident.
