Severe weather is possible throughout southeast Michigan Sunday evening. Due to the heightened risk the NEXT Weather Team will be at our Alert Day levels, providing additional coverage on our livestream through the evening. A line of storms should form this afternoon to our southwest and race to the northeast at approximately 50 mph.

It’s important to note this Alert Day is focused on the late-afternoon to evening timeframe: 4 PM to 11 PM. The peak of storm activity is most likely between 6 PM and 8 PM. Additionally, the primary focus for where we could see severe weather is anywhere south of a line from Clare to Port Austin.
