(WJAR) — Brown University has instituted a staff-wide hiring freeze. University officials say the move is in response to the “uncertainty we now face from federal actions.” In a letter, Brown University leaders say the freeze will begin immediately and remain in effect through the end of the 2025 fiscal year.

There continues to be significant uncertainty about the full financial impact of the ongoing volatility of the national economic landscape,” university officials wrote in a letter on Thursday.
