Two Russian figure skating coaches with Connecticut ties were among those killed after an American Airlines flight and Army helicopter collided and crashed into the frigid waters of the Potomac River Wednesday night.

"You have those feelings of dread when something like this happens," said Max Schmitter, who spent 32 years at the FAA as an aviation safety inspector.

Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, Russian figure skaters and former coaches in Connecticut, are two of the victims in the Jan. 29 plane crash.
