The Edmonton Oilers might be missing Mattias Ekholm for their opening-round series against the Los Angeles Kings, but Connor McDavid insisted that last year's Stanley Cup finalists are not limping into the playoffs.

McDavid was named the NHL’s "Best Overall Forward" by fellow league players in the 2024-25 NHLPA Player Poll, with the Oilers star receiving 73.89% of the vote — the highest share in any category this year — according to the results released by the NHL Players’ Association.
