Canned tuna sold at Trader Joe’s, Kroger, Costco, and more stores has been recalled over potential bacteria contamination.The cans of tuna may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacteria that can cause botulism.

A pull-tab defect that might cause leakage and lead to botulism contamination is affecting some canned tuna products sold in some of the nation's most popular retail chains.

The voluntary recall over botulism fears also covers cans sold at Safeway, Harris Teeter, Costco and other major grocery stores in dozens of states.

Officials said people who may have consumed the recalled products could experience neurological symptoms like breathing difficulties, double vision, and loss of tongue and throat functions
