In what is certainly just a coincidence, the Green Bay Packers signed an All-American kickoff returner just a day after All-Pro Keisean Nixon said he no longer wants to return kickoffs.

Packers CB Keisean Nixon doesn’t want to return kicks next season after experiencing the new rules for the first time this year. “I don’t really want to do it no more,” Nixon told Matt Scheneidman.

Nixon, a two-time All-Pro returner, saw fewer opportunities with the new kickoff rules and would like to exclusively play cornerback.

Jaire Alexander has been the Packers' No. 1 cornerback, but injuries have limited his availability. He played in only 14 of a possible 34 regular-season games the past two seasons. He did not play after Week 11 this season and finished on injured reserve because of a knee injury.

The Packers got off to a nightmare start when Keisean Nixon fumbled the opening kickoff after taking a huge hit by Philadelphia's Oren Burks. Three plays later the Eagles scored a touchdown and seized control early at home. Nixon spoke Monday about the costly fumble and had a rather honest admission about that big hit by Burks.
