The remake, set to be released in June, follows Viking boy Hiccup (Mason Thames) who lives on the isle of Berk as he defies tradition by befriending a dragon named Toothless when his ancestors have historically fought the beasts.

A live-action adaptation of "How to Train Your Dragon 2" is currently in the works, Universal Pictures announced on Wednesday during its presentation at CinemaCon, the annual convention of movie theater owners.

The studio announced during its presentation at CinemaCon on Wednesday that the live-action feature sequel is set for theatrical release on June 11, 2027. The first live-action How to Train Your Dragon, based on DreamWorks Animation ‘s hit 2010 animated movie of the same name, is coming out June 13.
