Kansas health officials are fighting the largest tuberculosis (TB) outbreak in U.S. history, with 67 confirmed cases since new year began. The outbreak includes 60 active cases in Wyandotte County and seven in Johnson County,

The outbreak poses “very low risk to the general public, including the surrounding counties,” the Kansas Department of Health and Environment said.

State health officials said that dozens of people in the Kansas City, Kan., area have the disease, which has drawn a federal response.
