SAN JOSE -- Lucas Carlsson scored the game-winning goal with 3:23 left in the third period, and the San Jose Sharks defeated the Boston Bruins 3-1 at SAP Center on Saturday.

There was perhaps a time last year when new San Jose Sharks defenseman Lucas Carlsson doubted whether he could get back to the NHL. Carlsson sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in February of last year while playing for the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers.
