The White House says a lengthy phone call between Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin had achieved “movement to peace” in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will speak to reporters around 1:00 pm on Wednesday, where she will likely face questions about President Trump's calls yesterday and this morning with Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky.

Russia and Ukraine accused each other of continuing attacks overnight Tuesday despite Russia announcing hours earlier it had agreed to an energy and infrastructure ceasefire.
