Black swan events are unexpected developments with mostly negative consequences. They’ve been known to cause recessions and bear markets, but not all black swans have had negative consequences.

One can certainly not refer to the recent incursion by Russia into Ukraine as a Black Swan event ... of who appears to be the aggressor, a Black Bear event seems to be appropriate.
