A deadly severe outbreak spawned at least one tornado in 14 states from March 14-16. Hardest hit were Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi and Missouri.

A deadly tornado outbreak ripped through Missouri, Arkansas and Mississippi overnight Friday, leaving destruction, power outages and tragic loss in its wake.

Millions of Americans across the country are on alert for a severe weather outbreak as violent, long-track tornadoes with damaging winds of up to 80 mph and large hail are expected across the Midwest and South with the cross-country storm moveing east.

Tens of millions of people living in the Midwest and central U.S. could be impacted by tornadoes on Wednesday while critical wildfire conditions continue to impact the Southwest, after recent wildfires and a tornado outbreak killed at least 42 people over the weekend.

Strong tornadoes are possible near Chicago, while blizzard conditions have been blasting Nebraska and Kansas. Farther south, Oklahoma and Texas are facing critical wildfire danger.
