A few years back, General Motors had to recall 142,000 Bolts in a major fiasco due to fire risk. This time around, however, just a small number of Bolts are being recalled, only 107.

The two recalls are related. A software glitch was triggered by a “malfunction in the software programming tool during servicing” for the prior recall, the NHTSA documents said. That might fail to notify drivers of defective battery parts that need to be replaced, according to the filing.

A small number of Bolt EV and Bolt EUV electric vehicles may have not successfully completed the installation of the battery diagnostic software

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday General Motors would recall 107 Bolt EV and EUV vehicles over a fire risk. The recall covers previously repaired Bolt vehicles from model years 2020-2022.
