Multiple sources have reported that the Calgary Flames are interested in acquiring Buffalo Sabres forward Dylan Cozens. The Calgary Flames are in a weird spot. Last season, they were definite sellers, moving Elias Lindholm, Noah Hanifin, and Chris Tanev before the 2024 trade deadline.

Cozens is in the second year of a seven-year, $49.7 million contract and has posted 10 goals and 16 assists in 53 games this season. His production has dipped since his breakout 2022-23 campaign when he recorded 31 goals and 68 points, but he remains a highly regarded center with a manageable $7.1 million yearly cap hit through 2030.

Calgary Flames center Nazem Kadri and defenseman Rasmus Andersson have occasionally surfaced in the NHL rumor mill this season. Speculation has dogged the 34-year-old Kadri since last summer while Andersson's eligibility for UFA status in 2026 had some observers pondering his future in the Stampede City.
