The National Weather Service is forecasting mainly a light coating across southeastern Massachusetts Thursday. The most snow from Thursday's system will fall over Nantucket, which is expected to get three to four inches of accumulation, according to NWS. Cape Cod could see two to three inches of snowfall on Thursday.

The same storm that brought upwards of a foot of snow to Norfolk and Virginia Beach is scooting out to sea south and east of New England. The fringe of the storm will brush the outer Cape and Islands Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening with a period of light snow.

On Wednesday at 3:41 a.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Thursday 9 a.m. until Friday 7 a.m. for Nantucket County.
