NC road preps ahead of winter storm

Gov. Josh Stein updates current conditions and preparations ahead of a winter storm that's expected to bring snow and sleet to the Charlotte area on Friday.

After snowfall stopped on Thursday, Oklahoma City crews are preparing to treat roads and plow snow ahead of anticipated snowfall on Friday. Crews are asking drivers who plan to be out on the roads to drive carefully and avoid unnecessary travel if possible.

It took about two days to treat all of the main interstates and roads in and around Mecklenburg County. Now, they wait.

Following the winter storm that impacted Central Virginia over the weekend, crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation are preparing Richmond area roads for another winter storm expected this weekend.
