Police said a Connecticut man on the deadly weapons offender registry was found with a gun after he tried to run from a traffic stop in Norwalk.

Norwalk police say officers observed 20-year-old Niza Clarke, who was the passenger in the car, attempt to run from the scene during the traffic stop.

Norwalk police said 20-year-old Niza Clarke of Stratford, who is on parole, was found in possession of a gun during a traffic stop on Wednesday.

A Stratford man was held on a $250,000 bond after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop while illegally possessing a firearm on Wednesday, according to Norwalk police. Niza Clarke, 20, was charged with illegal manufacture of a firearm,
