Police found 72-year-old Joanne Smith at around 5:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting in the area near 22nd Street and Mobile Lane. She was found with more than one gunshot wound and taken to a hospital but did not survive her injuries.

Police are asking the community for help after the deadly shooting of a 72-year-old woman in Phoenix Sunday evening.

A drive-by shooting near 22nd Street and Roeser Road left a woman dead, police said. No arrests have been made.

Officers responded to the area of Eighth Street and Bell Road on Jan. 29 where they found a man and a woman who had both been shot.
