Star Wars Outlaws is an offline single-player game that came out over two months ago, but Ubisoft is increasingly treating it like a post-launch live service game with continual updates and, now, a new director.

As part of its ongoing effort to turn Star Wars Outlaws into a game that more people might actually want to buy, Ubisoft has rolled out its first developer update, revealing that creative director Julian Gerighty has been replaced as creative director by The Division and Avatar veteran Drew Rechner.

Changes are coming to three key areas that those who’ve played Outlaws for any extended period of time could guess, and a fourth, unexpected change. The aforementioned Julian Gerighty is no longer creative director on the title, and instead Drew Rechner has taken up the role.

The announcement was unceremoniously shared on X, with a dev update introducing Rechner, who "has recently taken the helm of Star Wars Outlaws as creative director." The new Imperial commander said the studio has been gathering data since launch and will focus on implementing feedback and continuing to grind down those lingering rough edges.

The developers behind Star Wars Outlaws lay out their three primary focus areas for improving the open-world Star Wars game in future update patches.

That’s according to Ubisoft Massive’s Drew Rechner, who has recently taken on the role of Star Wars Outlaws creative director, replacing Julian Gerighty, who has switched his focus to The Division 3.

Ubisoft has shared a developer update for Star Wars Outlaws, and with it comes the news that Drew Rechner, a Massive Entertainment veteran whose credits include Associate Game Director for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Tom Clancy's The Division 2: Warlords of New York,

Outlaws' Creative Director Drew Rechner has teased the game will be receiving its "biggest update yet" in Title Update 1.4 on 21 November.
