Rory McIlroy notched his second PGA Tour win of 2025 in a playoff round on Monday, earning his second trophy from The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

Players Championship stands every year as the most significant tournament on the PGA Tour's own schedule, and as such, it doles out the biggest purse to golfers. A total of $25 million was up grabs Sunday at TPC Sawgrass with players who made the cut grabbing a slice of the largest prize fund of the season.

It was last Tuesday when a University of Texas golfer watched McIlroy hook his tee shot into the water on the 18th during a practice round and told him it was just like the shot M
