Airbus struck a deal with budget airline VietJet for up to 150 single-aisle jets at the Paris Airshow on Tuesday, where industry hopes of a return to tariff-free trade were given a boost by U.S. Transport Secretary Sean Duffy.

The group, which employs thousands of staff at its wing manufacturing plant in Broughton, near Chester, and its Filton site in Bristol, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 100 single aisle A321neo aircraft with Vietjet, Vietnam’s largest private airline, today (June 17).
