Defiant Coco Gauff fought back to beat China's Zheng Qinwen 3-6 6-4 7-6(2) in a three-hour thriller on Saturday and become the youngest player to win the WTA Finals in 20 years and the first American champion since Serena Williams a decade ago.

On Friday, the top-ranked American female tennis player beat world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka 7-6 (4) 6-3 to reach make her first WTA Finals final. On the other side, the Chinese tennis star overcame reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova 6-3 7-5 to reach the championship match in her debut.

Coco Gauff has won the WTA Finals for the first time by rallying to beat Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2) in the final in Riyadh.
