Banking in India follows a biweekly Saturday holiday system, where banks are open on the first and third Saturdays but closed on the second and fourth Saturdays.

During holidays, certain transactions, such as those involving cheques and promissory notes under the Negotiable Instruments Act, will be unavailable.

Bank Holidays in February 2025: Banks across India remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month along with all Sundays. Apart from these, banks also remain closed for state-specific festivals and other important observances. These holidays are fixed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

All branches of major banks including Bank of America and Wells Fargo are due to close Monday (February 17) as the U.S. celebrates a national holiday. The holiday will result in the closure of most banks and government offices,

Banking services like online transactions, UPI payments, and ATM withdrawals will function normally despite physical branch closures.

Williamsburg: No collection changes Monday or Tuesday. Hampton Roads Transit: On Monday, all HRT services will operate on regular schedules. Transit center information booths and public access to administrative facilities will be closed.

The next holiday is right around the corner; Presidents Day, which also celebrates George Washington's birthday, is this Monday, Feb. 17.
