Devon Toews scored with 37 seconds left in overtime, and the Colorado Avalanche rallied to beat the New York Rangers 3-2 in Denver on Tuesday night. Artturi Lehkonen and Parker Kelly also scored, Nathan MacKinnon had two assists and Mackenzie Blackwood made 27 saves for Colorado.

The Colorado Avalanche’s power play had a very bad Tuesday night, and the head coach called it the least of his worries. That’s how little Jared Bednar thought of his team’s performance — even if the result ended up being much better than the process.

Devon Toews scored 4:23 into overtime after Artturi Lehkonen tied the game late in regulation, and the Colorado Avalanche began a five-game homestand with a 3-2 win over the New York Rangers on Tuesday night.

In the second of three-consecutive Central-Division matchups, the Avalanche host the Minnesota Wild. Monday marks the second of four meetings between the teams this season, as they’ll meet in Denver on February 28 and in St. Paul on March 11.
