After a dreadful loss to the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this week, the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated a solid Los Angeles Kings team by a score of 3-0. The Lightning got an early lead in the first period and held on for the rest of the way through.
Guentzel scored a goal on five shots, added an assist and went minus-2 in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Blackhawks. Guentzel tied the game in the final minute of the third period and helped out on Nikita Kucherov's game-winner in overtime.
Kucherov’s game-winner came after Jake Guentzel tipped in his pass in front of the net to tie it 3-3 on the power play with 42 seconds remaining in the third period for the Lightning, who outshot the Blackhawks 17-1 in the period.
Jake Guentzel’s tying 6-on-4 goal with 40.8 seconds left in regulation sent the game to overtime, and Nikita Kucherov capitalized on a 4-on-3 power play to open OT, scoring the winner 58 seconds in.
