RALEIGH, N.C. — In the weeks leading up to his trade to Carolina, Taylor Hall repeatedly said he wanted to stay in Chicago, that he wanted to be a part of what the Blackhawks were building, that he wanted to settle down in one city in the twilight of his peripatetic career.

Taylor Hall seems to be fitting in nicely with his new team, the Carolina Hurricanes. He has now played two games after being traded by the Chicago Blackhawks and just recorded his first point in his second game that came against the New York Rangers.

Hall will miss his first game against his former team following last Friday's blockbuster trade that sent him to the Hurricanes. The winger has one helper over two games with Carolina so far. The Hurricanes will be forced to play a man short, as Sebastian Aho (illness) is also out while Jack Roslovic (illness) will return.

He was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes as part of a three-team deal that also involved the Colorado Avalanche. The Chicago Blackhawks received their third-round pick back from the Hurricanes, didn't retain any of Hall's $6 million cap hit, but did retain $4.625 million of Mikko Rantanen's contract.

Getting a 3rd round pick from the Hurricanes gives the Blackhawks nine total selections in the upcoming draft.
