A Laurel County middle school teacher has been charged with criminal abuse and fourth-degree assault—child abuse.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Kentucky teacher is accused of abusing a child. According to a social media post from Laurel County Public Schools, the district was notified on Friday by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office of an arrest warrant issued for North Laurel Middle School teacher Brittany Farmer for charges of criminal abuse.

Brittany Farmer was arrested Friday morning on charges of third-degree criminal abuse and fourth degree assault.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office released a statement Friday afternoon, reporting that Detective Tommy Houston arrested 35-year-old Brittany Farmer, of London, charging her with third-degree criminal abuse and fourth-degree assault.
