A bill proposed by lawmakers would dedicate the Burnsville Parkway bridge over Interstate 35W to the three first responders killed in a March 2024 shooting.

The committee will meet regularly to discuss budget matters related to police, fire, code enforcement and more.

The department is the only one in Minnesota to start a non-fatal shooting unit that launched in January of 2024.
