Adrian Meronk wants to get to Oakmont for the U.S. Open. The road might have started in Riyadh. He won his first LIV Golf event in Saudi Arabia’s capital just three days after the USGA published new criteria that gives LIV players a path to the U.

The leading LIV Golf League player not already exempt for this year's Open Championship will gain entry to the field for Royal Portrush.

The British Open will also offer a direct pathway for LIV Golf players to get into the field for a major championship, the R&A announced Monday.

The U.S. Open is the first major to publish a pathway for players from Saudi-funded LIV Golf. The USGA will take the leading player from among the top three in the LIV individual standings in the middle of May.
