California said the Trump administration’s deployment of the National Guard and US Marines to respond to protests in Los Angeles was illegal and cannot continue “unchecked.”

The protests over immigration raids in Los Angeles intensified after Trump called up the National Guard and have since spread to other cities, including Boston, Chicago and Seattle.

“The President’s unchecked, unnecessary deployment of our nation’s military to the city of Los Angeles is deeply dangerous for our children, for our families, and for our country.”
