Japanese carmaker Honda announced at CES the arrival of the Asimo Operating System, a software designed for the 0 Series line of EVs

The premium performance car will include the ASIMO operating system and Honda's in-house battery platform. It will also be the first vehicle to come off the line at its Ohio EV plant.

At CES in Las Vegas today, Honda showed off its promised new battery-electric Honda Zero prototypes. The first is an SUV based on its Space-Hub concept, called the Honda 0 SUV. The second is a sedan based on its Saloon concept, called the Honda 0 Saloon.

Currently, the only EVs sold by the two automakers stateside are the General Motors-based Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX crossovers. However, that will change in the following years as Honda will release several EVs that are based on a bespoke architecture developed in-house by the Japanese automaker.

At last year's CES, Honda showcased prototypes that embodied the Zero platform ethos of "Thin, Light and Wise." This year, Honda focused on the "wise" portion of that proposition and announced a new Honda-developed OS called ASIMO.
