Jamie Oleksiak and Eeli Tolvanen scored 49 seconds apart in the third period to erase a one-goal deficit and rally the Seattle Kraken past the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2.

The only period where the Kraken haven’t been outscored by at least 10 goals this season is the third. If they can make it there without incident, there’s still a chance. Seattle (19-23-3) reached Tuesday’s final period in Pittsburgh down a single goal in front of goaltender Joey Daccord (31 saves).

Trailing by a goal to the Penguins entering the third period, the Kraken got a pair of scores 50 seconds apart and secured another comeback win.

So far, 2025 hasn't gone as the Seattle Kraken or Pittsburgh Penguins would have hoped. Entering Tuesday's matchup in Pittsburgh, the Kraken are 1-4-1 in January and the Penguins are 1-2-3, not exactly the starts they were looking for as both teams chase wild-card playoff berths.

Kakko's Icebreaker- With just under two minutes remaining in the third period, the Penguins pulled Jarry for an extra attacker, hoping to find the equalizer and force overtime. But instead, Seattle’s Kaapo Kakko sealed the deal, sending the puck into the empty net to give the Kraken the 4-2 win.
