The Pentagon played down a report that it is considering reducing U.S. troop numbers in South Korea. "Anyone who's covered the Pentagon knows that we always evaluate force posture," chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell posted on X,

The "Wall Street Journal" suggested that the U.S. president's administration is considering withdrawing 4,500 soldiers. Officials assure that South Korea and the U.S. continue to cooperate to maintain stability on the Korean Peninsula.
