An NYPD officer shot and wounded a 911 caller during an “extremely fast-moving” confrontation Sunday shortly after a man tried to swipe the caller’s air conditioner, police said.

A 32-year-old man was shot by an NYPD officer in the Bronx Sunday evening, according to the NYPD. The shooting happened around 5:38 p.m. at 335 East 148th Street. Police say the man approached officers with a knife.
